Christmas Tree For Me
The spirit of Christmas is everywhere and everything that can reflect the holiday is usually decked out in something Christmas. Cars, trucks and recreational vehicles are no exception. Some drivers go to great lengths to make sure that the holiday message of glad tidings and holiday cheers is expressed at home, in the office, and in their vehicle. Cars and trucks are an extension of drivers and in some ways it might be said that they match the personality of the owner and are a member of the family. Drivers who have a strong affection for their vehicle will go to great lengths to make sure it has a holiday look and decoration that says happy holidays. Here are some decorating suggestions that are sure to have you rolling in Christmas fashion.
The wreath has got to be one of the best and all time favorites. You see them everywhere, on cars, trucks, and commercial vehicles. Usually made of artificial material so it last long and will not start to unravel at highway speeds the hood wreath weighs is as one of the benchmark all time favorite and practical of them all. You can fashion a wreath then add a nice ribbon to give it pizzazz. You can pick one up at any auto supply parts store or major retail outlet.
Another great ornament is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. When you add Rudolph to the hood of your car you make your car a nice modern day sleigh. Everywhere you go people are bound to take notice. How about deer antlers? The antler mounted ornament is nice and is exclusively everything Christmas.
Mount a stocking or a pair of candy canes crossed with a bow. Of course we cannot forget about Santa himself. Bright eye, smiling face and rosy cheeks; now that's a hood ornament. Just make sure when you mount it on the hood, it does not damage the car and that it is secured to the vehicle.
Window snowflakes or other holiday scenes
This can be a lot of fun. You can do this freehand or simply download a stencil and use a can of water based craft paint and paint the design on the inside of the window. You can also find great removable temporary decals that will do the trick as well. Make sure the design does not obstruct your view and that you keep the design simply so people can see it when you drive. Keep it light so it can be removed with a window or glass cleaner. Also plan to put them on the windows you do not have to roll down so often. A good place might be the rear windows or on the corners of the back window.
Interior decorative light for the headliner
These little gems will light up the night and give the day a festive atmosphere in any vehicle. They come in battery operate strands so all you need to do is hang them and hit the switch when you want to light up your interior with a warm holiday festive glow.
Holiday auto blanket
These are fun and easy to do. You use car blankets with holiday designs or colors that reflect the holiday season. Red, green, or chimney brick pattern all will work. Drape them over the tops of the back seats and you are in holiday fashion.
Rear window base decorations
You can really get creative with this space. It is set low enough that you can have a full on holiday scene going on here. Let your imagination guide you. The choices range from stuffed animals to scenes of holiday villages or small boxes decorated to look like gifts. Just with anything you add to your car or truck make sure you secure them to the vehicle so they do not roll around back there.
Dashboard decorations
These can be fun and simple. Add a few miniature ornaments that you can attach to knobs or dials. Today many cars are made of composite materials and it is not easy to place something on the dashboard. In this case the knobs for the radio or other equipment like the air conditioner will do just fine.
Outside rooftop
If you drive an SUV or other vehicle with a roof top mounted rack, why not throw Santa up there on a sled. You won't have to guess when he's coming to town because he will arrive with you. This is a great family project and only takes a little imagination to pull it off. If you are already used to hauling things on the roof of your car or SUV such as bicycles, surfboards or construction material, you're halfway there because you are used to height restrictions and understand the importance of securing loads. You know what it takes to secure items and now all you need to do is batten down the jolly ole guy and away you go.
These are just a few ideas that can make driving this holiday fun for you and a treat for those who pass you on the road. Everyplace you go you will have the spirit of the holiday with you. However you decide to decorate your vehicle this holiday season, keep safety as the first step in all of your decisions. Make sure that all of the exterior additions you use are properly secured and do not obstruct your view, headlights or lights. Secure the inside designs also and keep the rear view and side view mirrors un obstructed. This holiday season there are many new and innovative things to pick and choose for your vehicle. By the way if you are one of those fastidious drivers that cannot bring yourself to doing anything other than wash your car every week, there is a whole library of holiday much just for you. You will be in holiday season with the best of them.
